Beverly Tipton Hammond is a native of Washington, D.C. As an ordained elder, teacher, dancer, singer, author and songwriter; Beverly is blessed with many gifts from God. She comes from a family of artists, from opera singers to visual artists and performers. She is the daughter of Tom Tipton, renowned hymn singer who has ministered at the Crystal Cathedral with Dr. Robert Schuller for 25 years. At age 9 she studied piano and at 14 began classical ballet training. In 1996, she was ordained as an Elder and has faithfully served in the church for 28 years. She is the founder and Pastor of Pure Water Church and Ministries.
She is the founder and Director of Pure Water Ministries, which is an apostolic and prophetic ministry, called to equip the body of Christ to take dominion in the earth. It is also an umbrella for all forms of sacred arts; books, plays productions, evangelistic outreach as well as, the teaching and preaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Beverly is also a recording artist and has recorded 3 gospel albums; Refreshing Hymns & Spirituals, Holy Fire and her Christmas album “Wondrous Child”. Beverly was privileged to sing for at the White House for President Clinton and the first family for the Christmas Holidays in 1996 and 1999.
Her first book “Cross Points – A Life Application of the Cross of Christ” was published through Authorhouse Books, and is bringing transformation in the hearts of men and women all over the world.
Ten years ago God gave Beverly a vision for a Christian comic character, “Holy Girl”. Three years ago she was blessed to meet illustrator, Adrian Jacobs, who God is using to bring this wonderful character to life. The first issue of Holy Girl was released in August 2010!
Beverly’s desire is to reach the world for Christ though through the arts. The youth are the central focus of her ministry. Through preaching and teaching the word of God, literary works, dance and performing arts, Beverly has given her gifts back to the Lord for His glory and to bless the masses!
Beverly graduated from the Friends School of Baltimore and has a Bachelors of Science Degree in Business Management. She is a Senior Administrative Assistant at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in the Office of Academic Affairs. She is married to writer, Andrew Hammond Baltimore, MD.
